Heard My Country Calling: A Haunting and Inspiring Memoir of War and Redemption
In the small town of Colby, Kansas, in the heart of the American Midwest, a young woman named Sarah Bush grew up with a deep love of her country. She was inspired by stories of her grandfather, who had served in World War II, and dreamed of following in his footsteps.
When the United States invaded Afghanistan in 2001, Sarah was a college student at Kansas State University. She was moved by the images of suffering and injustice that she saw on the news, and she felt a strong call to serve her country.
